ATELIER X teamed up with MULTI MULTI STUDIO to propose a housing concept that embraces the serenity of courtyards, the memories of alleys and lanes, and the airiness of a loft space to better serve the community.
What if we built four Sweet ADUs on the same lot? Could architecture support multi generational living and income? Can a home grow with us as we change over time?

Home Grown
Using the Sweet ADU ORIGINAL concept, we asked whether multiplying this basic module across four units on one lot can reduce construction cost even further while creating a more vibrant community for our neighbors.
By creating a larger home from the simple module of a modest ADU, we explored whether this approach could ease a major pain point for Angelenos searching for stability and a place to call home.
With the data we’ve collected from the builders, the answer is an emphatic YES!
